Labour Councillors in Dublin are to meet with the City Manager today, in an attempt to find a resolution to a dispute over bin collections in the city.
The city's waste collection services were recently privatised, and the contract was won by Greyhound Waste Management Company.
Greyhound are asking customers to pay €100 up front.
Dermot Lacey, a Councillor for the Pembroke Rathmines area, said he is hopeful about today's meeting.
Mr Lacey said: "The decision to privatise the bin service has been taken and while the Labour Party opposed it what we are trying to do is deal with the problems that arose from that decision.
"The principle one being the failure of Greyhound to actually deliver the service during the week in a number of areas and the far more important issue of the up front payment which was never notified to councillors. We hope to have that eased somewhat following our meeting with the city manager."
