George Clooney has denied loaning his Italian villa to David Beckham, following reports the sportsman had moved in to the luxurious property.

The LA Galaxy star was reported to have made himself at home at Clooney's Lake Como retreat while he plays on loan for Italian club AC Milan.

Clooney reportedly offered his holiday house to Beckham after they were introduced by fashion designer and mutual friend Giorgio Armani last year.

But the actor's representatives have shot down the speculation - insisting Clooney has no plans to turn his prized property in to a holiday rental anytime soon.

The spokesperson says: "100% not true. George is filming in America at this time. He is not renting the house to anyone, and that would include David."
