Taoiseach 'constantly reminds EU leaders of Ireland's fragile position'
The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said he expects Ireland to exit the bailout and fully return to the bond markets next year.
Mr Kenny said he is confident of a conclusion to a deal on bank debt before the next payment of the Anglo promissory note in March.
In an interview with independent radio he said the reputation of the country has been greatly restored in the last year and signs of confidence are there now.
Mr Kenny said he hopes European leaders live up to their promise last June to make our debt more sustainable.
He said: "We expect to exit the programme in 2013. It would make it that much easier for us, and that much more acceptable, for invesment to come in here if we can get a deal on this.
"I have made this point to European leaders, while they look on Ireland now as making steady progress in challenging times, I have to remind them constantly that we are a fragile economy, we are in a fragile position, and we do need that support."
