Former Terenure College coach Kevin Putt has been appointed head coach to NPC side Counties Manukau NPC on a three-year contract.

Putt was sacked from the Natal Sharks during the Super 12s and Manukau CEO Nick Sheppard chose Putt for his experience.

"A key component of our preparations for a return to the elite level of provincial rugby has been to identify and appoint a coach who has had experience at the professional level of the game as well as the technical knowledge and leadership skills required to enable Counties Manukau to retain its talent and convert that talent into on-field performance," Sheppard said.

"We are extremely pleased to have secured, in Kevin, a coach with the prerequisite skill set, a wealth of experience, and an abundance of enthusiasm."
