Guinea international left-back Mo Camara could leapfrog Poland striker Maciej Zurawski to become Gordon Strachan’s first Celtic signing.
The 29-year-old, who left Burnley at the end of the season, arrived at Celtic Park earlier today for talks.
The free agent had been lined up by previous manager Martin O’Neill, who stood down last month to spend more time with seriously ill wife Geraldine.
Camara is now set to sign for the Hoops, pending the results of a medical, having rejected approaches from Ipswich.
Zurawski, the 29-year-old Wisla Krakow striker, had jetted in to Glasgow last night to meet Strachan for the second time, having previously held talks in his homeland with his club’s permission.
The player has declared he wants to play for the Hoops ahead of Turkish outfit Trabzonspor, who had also been keen.
But whether his registration could be completed before Camara’s remained in doubt.
Zurawski’s UK agent Raymond Sparkes said: “There are no developments to talk about and there may not be any today.”
Camara was previously at Wolves.
