Wicklow: 24 jobs lost as disk drive company relocates

Two dozen job losses have been announced in Co Wicklow.

Two dozen job losses have been announced in Co Wicklow.

Maxtor - which makes hard disk drives and storage products in Bray - is shifting production to Budapest. Around 24 positions will be affected.

Staff will be offered either redeployment within the company or a severance package.

The firm blames high Irish operating costs for the move.
