The ISEQ gained 38.98 points to 8036.94 this morning as Elan suffered another wobble and the good news continued for C&C.
Shares in Elan slipped 27c (2.1%) to stand at €12.38 at 10.30am.
C&C was the morning’s busiest share, with the food and beverage company gaining 20c (1.9%) to €10.75.
Bank of Ireland was the best performer among the financials, finding itself 24c (1.6%) in the black at €14.89.
Allied Irish Bank was up 10c at €20.00 while Irish Life and Permanent rose 11c to €19.05. Anglo Irish Bank was unchanged from last night at €12.50.
The construction sector was also faring well, with CRH up 25c at €27.20 and Grafton gaining 7c to €10.48 on the back of some busy trading.
It was announced this morning that Belfast company Blue Zinc won an award for new companies in the North. The main sponsor of the award, energy group Viridian, was up 1c at €14.95 on the ISEQ.
