It looks like Munster will miss out on the signing of All Black sensation Luke McAlister after French club Toulouse are rumoured to have launched a huge financial package to secure the 23-year-old.
According to New Zealand newspaper the Sunday News, Toulouse spokesperson Celine Cluzel has confirmed a representative is in Auckland this week to secure McAlister's contract.
Toulouse want a world-class replacement for Frederic Michalak.
His father and manager, Charlie, confirmed that negotiations are underway and that his son is also being approached by Heineken Cup champions Munster.
"It doesn't matter where he goes to but if it's in Europe that's great. If not it won't be," said McAlister senior.
