Man suffers serious assault in Carlow
A man is in a serious condition in hospital today after he was assaulted in Carlow Town overnight.
The 30-year-old man was attacked on College Street at around 3am this morning.
It is understood that he received serious head injuries and was taken to the Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where his condition is described as serious.
Gardaí say they are following a definite line of enquiry, but so far no arrests have been made.
