Edward Lynam is weighing up the options for recent Cork winner Duff, who has a trip to the UK firmly on the agenda.
Lynam has entered the five-year-old gelding in Saturday’s CGA Hungerford Stakes at Newbury, while he also has the option of next week’s City Of York Stakes – a race he won 12 months ago.
His destination will be decided by the weather, with the County Meath handler insistent his charge needs decent ground.
“Duff would only be a possible runner at Newbury rather than probable,” said Lynam.
“The race at York would also be an option, but it depends on what happens with the weather as he wants nice ground.
“I’m hearing it’s quite soft at Newbury and York can go either way, so we will just have to play it by ear.
“At the moment it looks like he might miss Newbury and go to York, but we will just have to see.”
Lynam also has Capt Chaos entered in Saturday’s Group Two contest, but the Group Three winner may not even be in the trainer’s care by declaration time.
“Capt Chaos has a sale pending to Hong Kong which might go through in the next day or two, so we will have to see what happens with that,” Lynam added.
