Torres has 70% chance of facing old club, says Rafa

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez will make a late decision on the fitness of Fernando Torres ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League Group D clash with Atletico Madrid at Anfield.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez will make a late decision on the fitness of Fernando Torres ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League Group D clash with Atletico Madrid at Anfield.

Torres was put through a tough training session today, having missed five games with a hamstring injury, and was described by Benitez as having a “70% chance” of facing his former club.

Benitez has no other major injury problems – other than long-term absentee Martin Skrtel – so he will not take a risk with the Spain international, who could be included initially on the bench.

Provisional squad: Reina, Arbeloa, Carragher, Agger, Dossena, Aurelio, Babel, Benayoun, Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano, Kuyt, Torres, Keane, Cavalieri, Pennant, Lucas, Riera.
