The ISEQ index of Irish shares moved closed towards the 7300 barrier this morning, rising 17.14points to 7297.93 by 11am.
All the financials had a good morning. The biggest riser was Irish Life and Permanent who rose 25c to €16.80. Both AIB and Bank of Ireland rose 10c to €18.25 and €13.40 respectively.
Pharmaceutical company Elan rose 32c to €11.55, nearly 3%.
Construction company Kingspan were one of only a few shares to record losses, falling €13c to €10.70.
