Robbie Fowler’s recovery from a long-standing back injury has stalled following the postponement of tonight’s reserve team clash between Manchester City and Stockport.
The former England international, who has made just a single substitute appearance for the Blues this season, had been expected to play at Edgeley Park, following up his successful return to action with the second string last week.
However, the torrential rain that has fallen in the Manchester area over the past 36 hours has left the Stockport pitch unplayable.
It is also frustrating news for Bradley Wright-Phillips, who was due to start alongside Fowler as he looks for a return to full fitness after a recent knee problem.
