Derry City will be looking to get their league campaign off to a winning start as they take on Drogheda United at the Brandywell (kick-off 7.45pm).
Drogheda will be giving league debuts to almost the entire team with Alan McNally, Conor Kenna, Gavin Whelan and John Paul Kelly likely to start.
New United boss Alan Mathews said: "The club have been through some tough times, but we now have an opportunity for a new start.
"The players I have brought in share my attitude to hard work and commitment and we are all looking forward to the new season."
Kevin Deery is definitely missing for City as he has a knee injury, while both Stephen Gray and Liam Kearney picked up knocks in training and will undergo a late fitness test.
City’s first team coach, Declan Devine said: "Obviously we are looking forward to getting back into competitive action after a good pre-season.
"We are under no illusions as to how difficult it will be this term, as usual we are regarded as underdogs for the league title, but we will give it a go, that's for sure."
