The Green Party has official launched its campaign for the European election on June 11.

The party is fielding three candidates in the election.

Existing MEP Patricia McKenna is seeking to retain her seat in Dublin, while councillor Mary White is standing in Leinster and councillor Chris O’Leary is seeking election in Munster.

Speaking at the launch of their campaigns today, Green Party leader Trevor Sergeant said the candidates, if elected, would work to promote social justice and improve ordinary people’s quality of life.

Ms McKenna, meanwhile, said protecting Ireland’s neutrality and promoting the EU as a community would be her priorities, while Ms White said she would work to promote healthy food and ease traffic congestion and Mr O’Leary said he would highlight issues of social justice.
