The body of Erik Murray has been found.

Gardaí search for missing Kildare man Erik Murray

Gardaí are seeking the public's help in finding missing man Erik Murray.

The 67-year-old has been missing from his home in Celbridge, Co Kildare since this morning.

Erik was last seen when he left home at approximately 10.30am. He was wearing a black trousers, black jacket and had a black rucksack with him.

Erik is approximately 5 foot 8 inches in height, bald, and of slim build.

Erik left in his vehicle 03 D 6474, a blue Lexus IS 200 and is known to hill-walk on the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains.

Gardaí are concerned for Erik's welfare and anyone with any information is asked to contact Leixlip Garda station on 01 - 6667800, The Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111, or any Garda station.

Update at 7.45pm - 26/03/2015

Gardai have located the body of Erik Murray.
