Paul O’Neill will make a speedy return to the saddle this weekend after his accident at Leicester on Wednesday was not as bad as feared.

The jockey’s mount in the ladbrokes.com Handicap Chase, Thenford Flyer, ducked left on the run to the fifth, unseating O’Neill and leaving him on the fence.

However, his agent Sam Stronge said: “Paul went for X-rays on an ankle but nothing is broken or anything. He is very sore and not riding on Friday, but he’s hoping to be back on Saturday.”
