Five US soldiers who were injured in the war in Iraq were brought to a hospital in western Germany today for treatment.
The five, two of whom were taken to intensive care, arrived at Ramstein Air Base and were taken to the US military’s nearby Landstuhl Regional Medical Centre.
Three of the soldiers were from the 101st Airborne Division, said Capt Norris Jones. Two were placed in intensive care and the third was taken to a surgical ward, he said.
Last weekend, three soldiers from the 101st Airborne were seriously injured when a comrade threw grenades into tents at the division’s command centre in Kuwait. One soldier was killed and 15 were injured.
