Brosnan helped McElhone cope with husband's death

Natascha McElhone took advice from Pierce Brosnan to help her cope with intense media interest over the tragic death of her husband last year.

The 'Californication' star was pregnant with her third child by plastic surgeon Martin Kelly when he suffered a cardiac arrest in May and died at the age of 43.

Ever since the tragedy, the actress has had to deal with prying questions from the world's press about the sensitive subject.

And to help her cope, she enlisted former Bond star Brosnan, whose first wife died of cancer.

McElhone said: "Pierce Brosnan gave me some great advice. He said 'The first few interviews you do, that's all anyone will want to talk about. If you don't talk about it, it will become this huge elephant in the room and will be even more uncomfortable. Just go with the flow.'

"It was great advice. I think if you're acting and you accept all the privileges of that life, then there are sacrifices. There's a door that people are allowed to open."
