€260,000 RAPID funding announced

€260,000 is to be provided for projects around the country under the RAPID programme.

€260,000 is to be provided for projects around the country under the RAPID programme.

RAPID provides funding for disadvantaged areas and communities in urban areas around the country.

Among the communities to benefit under this announcement are Knocknaheeny and Hollyhill in Cork, where the local Garda youth diversion project will receive €20,000.

€20,522 is to go towards gym equipment for the Ballinasloe Community workshop, which helps to re-integrate offenders back into the community.

The Waterford Treo project will benefit to the tune of €19,764 which will help to purchase a mini-bus.

Meanwhile the Tuam Community training workshop is to also receive €19,764. The Tuam centre allows participants to obtain employment skills to divert them away from the possibility of offending.
