Police were today investigating a number of attacks by nationalist youths on property in the loyalist Fountain area of Derry.

Police were today investigating a number of attacks by nationalist youths on property in the loyalist Fountain area of Derry.

The first incident occurred at about 12.30am on Saturday when a mob of around 20 youths hurled missiles into the small enclave from the Bishops Gate area. Then, an hour later, police received a report that the window of a car had been smashed.

At around 1.30am yesterday, a petrol bomb was thrown at a car by youths from the New Gate vicinity. It landed under the car but there were no reports of any damage being caused.

In another incident on Saturday morning, police received reports of suspicious activity close to offices at London Street. On going to the scene, police found that the outer door was open, but internal doors were secure.
