1B footballers ready for the off

Armagh manager Joe McKernan has selected Oisin McConville for today's National Football League Division 1B clash against Down in Crossmaglen after he impressed in last week's thriller victory over Laois.

Armagh manager Joe McKernan has selected Oisin McConville for today's National Football League Division 1B clash against Down in Crossmaglen after he impressed in last week's thriller victory over Laois.

McConville was sprung from the bench last week and his two goals helped the Orchard to claim the points against Mick O'Dwyer's men.

Goalkeeper Paul Hearty returns to the line-up and Paul McGrane goes back to midfield.

Down, who were trounced by Kildare last weekend, won't name their team until before throw-in.

Leinster finalists Laois have made one change from the side that went down to the Orchard for today's clash against rivals Kildare.

Darren Rooney moves to half-back, with former All Star Tom Kelly coming in at centre-back. Kieran Kelly drops down to the bench.

Sligo must beat Wexford in Markievicz Park today if they are to hold any realistic hope of avoiding relegation.

Manager Dom Corrigan has named three debutantes in his line-up. Barry Kerrane come into the full-back line, Rossa O'Donovan is called into the half-back line and Dermot McTiernan is is selected at corner-forward.

The Yeats County are also boosted by the return of John McPartland to the side.

Wexford football boss Pat Roe has made three changes from the side that scored a facile win over Limerick last time out.

U21 goalkeeper Anthony Masterson is set to make his senior debut, replacing John Cooper, while Nicky Lambert is chosen ahead of Brendan Doyle.

Kieran Kennedy deputises for Redmond Barry, who is set to line out with the county hurlers on the same day.

Limerick host Galway in the final clash in the division at the Gaelic Grounds.

Shannonsider boss Liam Kearns and Galway manager Peter Forde are playing their cards close to their chests - neither will name his side until just before throw-in.
