The arrests followed a major garda search in counties Kildare, Carlow and Laois which revealed a suspected Real IRA training camp, weapons and equipment.

Lawrence Keane and Stephen O'Rourke are both 22 years old and from Athy in Co Kildare.

Meanwhile, gardai are continuing to question four men who were arrested in Co Meath yesterday under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Two men are believed to be among the leaders of the dissident republican group and have already faced charges before the Court.
