Six detained in connection with Beit painting robberies

Six women are being held at three Garda stations in Kildare and Wicklow in connection with the Russborough House art robbery.

Six women are being held at three Garda stations in Kildare and Wicklow in connection with the Russborough House art robbery.

Gardai in Naas and the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested the women, who are in their twenties, yesterday morning.

They are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and must be charged or released before tomorrow morning.

A Dublin man has already been charged with the theft of the paintings, which are valued at €4m.
