Dereck Chisora has been branded a “freak show” by Malik Scott, his upcoming heavyweight opponent.
The 29-year-old will face Philadelphian Scott at Wembley Arena on July 20, but a conference call yesterday promoting the fight turned nasty.
According to the Daily Mail, Scott said: “Dereck, you’re known for everything outside the ring. Maybe if I would have kissed a man at a weigh-in, and slapped a man at a weigh-in, and got hit in the head with a bottle by David Haye, I would have got a title shot earlier too.
“But no, my role is different. Everything that’s known about me comes from inside the ring. I’m not a freak show outside the ring. You’re not known for nothing good inside the ring.”
He added: “I’m from north Philly, we eat people like you for breakfast, lunch and dinner, spit you out.”
Chisora retorted saying he was going to make Scott his “slave”.
“He’s got a good record, but I could have got that record,” Chisora said. “I decided not to. I wanted to fight the best. Anyone can buy that record when they’re fighting nobodies. He’s going to come unstuck.
“You’re going to come here as a slave, I’m going to slave you. That’s what I’m doing, giving you a big pay day.”
