A passenger plane has been forced to make an emergency landing at Dublin Airport, after smoke was reported in the cockpit.

A passenger plane has been forced to make an emergency landing at Dublin Airport, after smoke was reported in the cockpit.

The United Airlines jet got into difficulty shortly after taking off from Heathrow.

It had been due to fly to Washington.

The DAA says the plane has now landed safely and all passengers have disembarked.
