Pitt flashes cash to extend drinking hours

Troy stud Brad Pitt was enjoying chatting with co-star Peter O'Toole so much at the bar of a hotel in Malta that he tried to buy the place so they could carry on drinking after hours.

O’Toole was sufficiently impressed to recall doing a similar thing.

“Peter Finch and I bought this hole-in-the-wall bar in a town outside Dublin called Bray when it was past time and they would not serve us. So that way we managed to get served quite a few extra drinks,” he said.

“We woke up in the morning with horrible headaches, and I said to Finchie: ’Do you know what we did last night? We went and bought a pub!’ So we rushed to the bank to cancel the cheque, but the owner of the bar had already cancelled our cheque as a favour. We went back to the bar and became best friends with the owner.”
