Frankie Dettori took a major step forward in his recovery from a broken collarbone when riding work for Godolphin today.
The champion jockey is now looking forward to resuming race riding the weekend after next.
“He rode first lot for Godolphin this morning,” said his agent Ray Cochrane.
“He had an X-ray on the shoulder and saw a specialist yesterday who told him that it had healed up,
“He also told him that it could stand a bit of pressure now.
“I imagine Frankie will carry on riding out now with a view to coming back the weekend after next.”
Dettori sustained the injury in a horror fall from Celtic Mill at Sandown on July 2.
He had hoped to return in time to partner Dubawi in the Prix Jacques le Marois but suffered a setback and missed the colt’s brilliant triumph in Deauville last Sunday.
