A 20-year-old Staten Island man has been charged with drink driving after he crashed his monster pick-up truck into a grandmother’s flat.

The souped-up Dodge Ram, decorated with pictures of “Eddie,” the skeletal mascot of rock band Iron Maiden, came to a halt 2ft from where 62-year-old Eleanor Rohrig was sleeping.

“I thought someone was breaking in until I saw my microwave fly across the room,” she said. “Then I thought, ‘What the hell was that?”’

Rohrig, who suffers from cancer and heart problems but was not hurt in the accident, said of the driver: “If he wanted a cup of coffee to get sober he didn’t have to drive his truck into my kitchen.

"He could have just knocked.”
