Fianna Fáil's justice spokesman Dara Calleary is calling on Justice Minister Alan Shatter to find out when the investigation into Anglo Irish Bank will be complete.

"We need an idea as to when charges may or may not be put so that the people of the country can see that there is some sort of justice being done over this whole issue," he said.

Yesterday, Director of Public Prosecutions James Hamilton defended the progress of the State’s inquiry into the affairs of the bank.

However, he admitted the investigation, which began more than two years ago, was far from complete, with important witnesses yet to give evidence.
