The Minister for the Environment Martin Cullen has given permission for road construction to start on a section of the controversial area.

Having cost the taxpayer millions of euro because of delays and protests, Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Council are now expected to attempt to remove an injunction on working on the site.

The routing of the M50 motorway will then resume.
