The CIÉ group of unions have said they will re-activate a programme of industrial action if the Minister for Transport does not respond to them by Friday.

Workers from Dublin Bus, Iarnrod Éireann and Bus Éireann met for nearly four hours today where they discussed their next plan of action surrounding the planned break up of CIÉ.

They claim Minister Brennan gave them assurances at a meeting yesterday and that he would respond today.

This is contrary to what the Department of Transport says.
