A survey by the Consumers Association of Ireland has shown significant increases in the price of food, drink, household goods and public services since the introduction of the euro two months ago.
The survey was conducted at the beginning of February. Among the price hikes recorded were a 13c - 16c rise in the price of a pint in Dublin.
The news comes after the Central Statistics Office announced that the inflation rate for January was 4.9%, up from 4.2% in December.
