A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of convicted Dublin criminal Martin Foley

A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of convicted Dublin criminal Martin Foley.

The 55-year-old, known as 'The Viper', was shot in January outside a gym on the Kimmage Road.

At around 7am this morning detectives from Crumlin arrested a man in his twenties in the Ballyfermot area.

He was brought to Crumlin Garda Station for questioning.

Foley sustained injuries to his shoulder, chest and lower body in the attack, and was treated in hospital for a number of weeks.
