Angelina Jolie openly speaks about adoption with her children, in "happy, wonderful discussions".

The actress raises three adopted kids, Maddox, nine, Pax, seven, and six-year-old Zahara, with her long-term partner Brad Pitt and she admits neither she nor Brad hide their family’s history from them.

The 35-year-old Hollywood star – who also has three biological children, Shiloh, four, and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, with the 47-year-old actor – took her entire brood to see a rough cut of her new animated movie ‘Kung Fu Panda 2’, which explores adoption, but she wasn’t too concerned about any awkward questions afterwards.

She said: “I wondered how they'd respond to the themes of the film. We were sensitive to see if there was going to be a big discussion that night about adoption and orphanages. (There wasn't) but that's because we talk about those issues at my house all the time, very openly. We've had those discussions so often, they're such happy, wonderful discussions.”

Angelina – who voices the character of Master Tigress in the film, while Jack Black provides the speech for panda Master Po – also revealed her six children were a useful sounding board to determine what was funny in the movie and what didn’t work.

She told the USA Today newspaper: “They'll sit in a room and say, 'That's just not funny.’ They keep you competitive, even if they think Jack Black is always cooler than mom."
