Gardaí have arrested two people as part of their investigation into the fatal stabbing of a man in Co Kildare.

Gardaí have arrested two people as part of their investigation into the fatal stabbing of a man in Co Kildare.

Twenty-one-year-old Kristian Morawski, who was originally from Poland, was found dead at a house in the Moorefield estate in Newbridge early on Monday morning.

It is understood he had been stabbed in the chest.

Detectives arrested a 46-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman in the town at around 9.30am today. They are being questioned in Kildare and Newbridge garda stations.

They are being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, and can be held for up to 24 hours.
