Jackson judge's fury at lawyer's TV interview

The judge overseeing the trial of the doctor accused of killing pop star Michael Jackson told the lead defence lawyer that he found an interview done with his law partner shocking.

The judge overseeing the trial of the doctor accused of killing pop star Michael Jackson told the lead defence lawyer that he found an interview done with his law partner shocking.

Superior Court judge Michael Pastor told lawyers he watched the interview during a break with his mouth open because lawyer Matt Alford is identified as a member of Dr Conrad Murray’s defence team and criticised a key prosecution witness.

Mr Alford, a partner of Murray’s lead defence lawyer Ed Chernoff, was interviewed outside the Los Angeles court by 'The Today Show'.

Court transcripts show prosecutors complained that it violated a previous order that both sides refrain from discussing the case publicly.

Judge Pastor ordered Mr Alford to appear in his court on November 15 for a contempt hearing.
