Clint Eastwood briefly returned to his role as the Man With No Name in Sergio Leone’s The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, to help restore 14 minutes of footage to the classic, 1966 spaghetti Western.
Eastwood was called in to redub the voice of his quick-shooting, soft-spoken character for some of the scenes.
“It was odd providing the voice for someone 37 years younger,” Eastwood told the Associated Press. “It’s hard to remember the plot line of the whole movie, much less those scenes. I haven’t seen them in so many years.”
Several of the deleted scenes already appear on the DVD as an extra feature, in Italian with English subtitles. But this is the first time they have been edited back into the film in English, he said.
