Munster head coach Tony McGahan has praised 21-year old winger Simon Zebo after the Cork Con man bagged two tries against Treviso helping Munster to a much-needed bonus point win.
The 35-14 victory in Italy on Saturday has lifted Munster into third place in the RaboDirect PRO12 table but they remain 14 points off league leaders Leinster.
Zebo crossed for Munster’s second try in the 10th minute after good work down the left wing from Danny Barnes.
Having claimed three first-half tries, Munster had to wait until the 78th minute to secure the bonus point when Zebo dove over in the corner finishing off a flowing move.
After catching the eye with a stunning hat-trick against Northampton Saints in the Heineken Cup, Zebo has continued to impress with his prolific finishing but McGahan insists there’s more to Zebo’s game than try-scoring.
“Simon is certainly a very important strike player for us,” he said.
“He has been terrific for us all season and he took his opportunities against Treviso very well, as he has been doing all season.
“But the important thing that he brings to the game is his work-rate.
“That, as well as his expert finishing, is what makes him so potent and it’s great to watch him on this kind of form.”
