Customs seize 50,000 cigarettes in Tipperary

Up to 50,000 illegal cigarettes have been seized in Co Tipperary.

Up to 50,000 illegal cigarettes have been seized in Co Tipperary.

The haul, which had a retail value of around €21,000, was discovered in two homes in Roscrea last night.

The cigarettes had a potential loss to the Exchequer of €18,000.

A number of people were questioned and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
