Bangor's Monday meet waterlogged

Monday's jumps meeting at Bangor has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.

Officials at the Welsh circuit had to pull the plug before final declarations could have made after 36 millimetres of rain had fallen within the last 24 hours.

Bangor's races over fences had already been abandoned last week after the chase track was found to have been unfit for racing.

Bangor clerk of the course Andrew Morris said: "We have had a lot more rain than was forecast over the last 24 hours.

"All three courses are waterlogged so there was no way back."
