Actress wins restraining order against stalker
Hollywood star Sandra Bullock has won a temporary restraining order against a suspected stalker.
Thomas Weldon, 34, is barred from contacting the actress or coming within 200 yards of her.
Bullock, 38, claimed he had harassed her for the past year, and become increasingly aggressive which she feared could “escalate to violence.”
Weldon is alleged to have followed her around the US, sent her numerous e-mails and faxes and left voice mail messages with her production company and family indicating he wanted to have a relationship with her.
The Two Weeks Notice star also claimed that Weldon, who lives in Los Angeles, has admitted he refuses to take medication for paranoid schizophrenia.
Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon granted a temporary restraining order against Weldon after studying Bullock’s 57-page complaint.
A hearing to consider request for a permanent restraining order was set for June 6.
