Thirty people had to be evacuated from their homes in Baldoyle while four people were hospitalised after a fire in Clondalkin overnight.

Thirty people had to be evacuated from their homes in Baldoyle while four people were hospitalised after a fire in Clondalkin overnight.

The first incident took place at around 2am when a blaze broke out at a house in Monksfield Grove in Clondalkin.

three units of the fire brigade attended the scene and four adults were rescued and taken to Tallaght hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

Meanwhile in Baldoyle 30 people had to be evacuated from eight houses at St Domhnach's Well estate when a gas main bust and caught fire at about 4am.

Fire crews attending the scene made the area safe.

There were no injuries and the all-clear was given just after 6am.
