Jetmagic: Consumers Association points finger at Govt

The Consumers Association of Ireland (CAI) has called on the Government to accept that it was partially at fault for the situation facing 400 stranded Jetmagic passengers.

The Consumers Association of Ireland (CAI) has called on the Government to accept that it was partially at fault for the situation facing 400 stranded Jetmagic passengers.

The airline has announced it is to cease operations at Cork Airport with immediate effect, due to a lack of funding and lower-than-expected passenger bookings.

CAI spokesman Michael Kilcoyne said: "Time and again, we have raised with the Department of Transport and the Minister for Transport the great need for putting a bonding system in place that would prevent this from happening.

"He has failed to do so, he continues to fail to do so and he must accept part of the responsibility for this disaster."
