Westmeath gardaí appeal for information on shooting
Gardaí in Westmeath are appealing for witnesses following a shooting outside a pub in Ballymore, near Athlone.
A number of shots were fired at 7.30pm yesterday evening, but no one was injured.
A car involved in the incident, a Hyundai Trajet with a Laois registration, was seen travelling in the Athlone direction and was found a short time later on fire.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
