Iarnród Éireann launches €115m fleet

Iarnród Éireann has officially launched a new fleet of rail carriages for use on commuter lines around Dublin.

Iarnród Éireann has officially launched a new fleet of rail carriages for use on commuter lines around Dublin.

32 of the Spanish-built cars are already in use on lines between the capital and Dundalk, Longford, Kildare and Arklow.

A further 48 carriages are due to be introduced before the end of this year. Iarnród Éireann said the 80 carriages cost a total of €115m.
