Theft of power cables a hugely dangerous activity, ESB warns
Gardaí and the ESB say they are extremely concerned about recent thefts of overhead power cables.
A joint statement from Gardaí and the power company said the activity is highly dangerous and causes a risk to the power network.
The thefts of overhead wires happened between poles on the live electricity network.
Gardaí have appealed for anybody noticing suspicious activity near power lines to contact them immediately.
