Man stabbed by car thieves in Co Meath

A 20-year-old man is recovering in hospital this morning after he was stabbed by car thieves in Dunboyne, Co Meath.

A 20-year-old man is recovering in hospital this morning after he was stabbed by car thieves in Dunboyne, Co Meath.

The victim was in a taxi with another man when they spotted the thieves attempting to steal a car in the Mill Farm area at around 3am.

The pair attempted to intervene and the victim was stabbed in the back with a screwdriver.

He was taken to hospital in Dublin, but his injuries are not believed to be serious.

The car the thieves are believed to have been using was later found abandoned near Clonee.
