The Republic of Ireland will face Celtic at Celtic Park in a testimonial for Jackie McNamara on May 29.
The game will be vital preparation for Brian Kerr’s men who face two crucial World Cup qualifiers in June against Israel at Lansdowne Road and the Faroe Islands.
Kerr said: “I am delighted to be involved in Jackie’s testimonial celebrations as he has been a great servant to the game in an era when loyalty to one club is unusual.
“As well as strengthening the good relationship with Celtic, the game itself will be very useful as it will keep our players in good match-playing condition as the English season will have ended some three weeks earlier.”
Talks are underway with a number of Associations about a possible friendly in Dublin at the beginning of April while the Under 21 side will travel to Portugal on February 9 as part of their preparations for the European Championship qualifiers.
