Weekend road death toll reaches six

A man in his twenties has been killed in a road accident in Co Carlow.

A man in his twenties has been killed in a road accident in Co Carlow.

He was a passenger in a car which hit a wall near Borris after 11pm yesterday.

The driver is being treated in hospital in Kilkenny.

The latest crash victim is the sixth person to be killed on Irish roads over the weekend, after five Eastern Europeans died in a two-car collision in Buncrana, Co Donegal early Saturday morning.

The sixth person involved in that accident is in a stable condition in Letterkenny hospital.
